Meritt has initiated a new expansion in Monrovia, Liberia. The label has yet to announce its proposed manager, who will manage the expansion as the label seeks to tap into the slowly growing Liberian music industry. Rumors have it that Sheik Lagufre, a longtime showbiz promoter, might be the leading man. The expansion sparks concerns about the potency of the Liberian industry. Liberia's music industry has struggled to remain internationally recognized, even as big-name artists like Kobazzie and DenG recently made major collaborations with Nigerian giants like Davido and more. The market suffers from financial stability. When asked about the expansion, F.E.J stated, "The expansion is to mainly focus on growth and finding innovative ways to create a brand that will not only serve as a record label but also a hub for the world." As the expansion is gearing up, the label made a promise to that effect by signing their first artist, Punchie the Zombie.
